In his own opinion however, he doesn't have any distinguishing features. Beginning with his head, Axel's hair is simply a mess. At a medium length, it is constantly in a state of disarray with it appearing spiky at some points while straight at others. A good portion of his hair hangs over his ears, covering the top half and most of his forehead. He has light brown eyes with a round shape, coupled with thin eyebrows that make his eyes look ever bigger. He has a a decent sized nose, neither small nor big with thin lips. He has little to no facial hair, even going on months without shaving would produce nothing more than stubble. In fact, he has practically zero body hair, causing himself to wonder if he skipped puberty. He is a taller person, standing at a height of 6'4, although he is fairly skinny. This often ends up with most people calling him a walking skeleton or tree branch, something that annoys him to no end. Although he isn't picky about clothing, he tends to wear tighter clothes in dark colors, claiming bright things hurt his eyes. He has a great hatred for boots however, claiming that they are among the worst pieces of clothing he has ever seen. His most prominent piece of attire however is his hat and goggles combo, wearing it practically 24/7. Another piece of attire he commonly wears are two black fingerless gloves, although this is only when piloting any Zoid. Around his neck he constantly wears a small digital camera, the camera being black in color. » personality Axel can honestly lay claim to be one of the more annoying people to ever step out of the Helic Republic. Highly immature and crude, Axel cannot go more than ten minutes of being serious. This often stems itself in the form of Axel's own tasteless jokes or his morbid sense of humor. He has a never ending sense of humor, able to joke about something in nearly any situation. With his clown like personality, he often finds himself in trouble with others. This is mainly because no matter what situation he is in, he will not shut up. As such, most of his peers often call him a motor-mouth with no tact. Axel has little regard for gender or age in this sense, claiming everything is fair game to him. He is a slightly depraved person, boasting a record of ninety-nine rejections in his life due to his perverted ways. He can often be seen taking pictures of women without their permission. When caught, he will resort to lying and claim that he's a journalist or a photographer. He has little problem swindling others, claiming that'll it be for the greater good, usually that good being his own. Despite his negative traits, Axel possesses very good traits as well. For starters, he has his own moral code of ethics, one of which is a hatred for violence. He has said multiple times that despite his shady past, he would never con an innocent person or steal from somebody who couldn't afford to get it back. Despite his tendency to cause trouble for others, he cares about those he's close to and is extremely loyal. He has what he likes to call a 'heart made of coal with just a hint of gold.' He has a huge soft spot for children, often spending ridiculous amounts of Zeni to appease them, sometimes going broke because of this. He has incredible nerves, capable of staying calm and smiling in nearly any situation. » history Axel was born in Helic City, the first child to Alister and Gabriella Lockhart. His father was a wealthy man, collecting rare Zoids and selling/trading them to high bidders. His mother, who married Alister off an arranged marriage, was a simple housewife. Growing up in the Lockhart house, Axel was constantly told he had to be the perfect boy. He rarely even saw his father, due to him constantly being away obtaining zoid parts to sell or trade away. As such his caretaker, Mitchell, was often the one to watch Axel and essentially helped Gabriella raise him. As such, he wasn't allowed to play with the common people nor was he to act out in any way. This limited his social skills, Axel having absolutely zero social activity outside of his studies and training to take up his father's career. At the age of 12, Axel met his future best friend and partner in crime Geo. When 'playing' in his backyard, Geo emerged over the fence and cut through the yard in an attempt to get away from his pursuers. Axel's caretaker grabbed the young lad and wanted to hold him down till the people after him came. Seeing that Geo wanted desperately to get away, Axel insisted Mitchell release him, who had no choice but to obey. Shedding a hasty thanks to the kid, Geo ran off with a few Guardian Force patrol men after him. One week later, Geo returned to the manor, going through the same backyard and spotting the young Axel there, he explained why he was running. To him it was an innocent crime, simply stealing a few groceries so that his family could have a decent meal for once instead of bread and soup. Mitchell, witnessing the whole scene and caring for his young master, allowed Geo to stay with Axel in the yard as the two played. Unfortunately for him, he had no idea of how bad an influence Geo would be on the young child. By the time they were fifteen, Axel had already joined Geo's gang of misfits and would often sneak out during odd hours of the day. Although Axel and his father rarely spoke to begin with, there was now a sense of great animosity between them. Alister often said how Axel was nothing more than a delinquent now and that Ashley was the child he needed. For his own part, Axel retorted with anger and would often go on about how the old man had to practically buy his wife, causing more fights between the two. It was during this time that Axel would make his biggest, but oddly enough the one mistake he would never take back. It would be a grand heist, Axel and Geo were to sneak into a warehouse and obtain Zoid parts. Geo would then go ahead and sell the parts for enough zeni that he and his family could get money for his family to live off of for awhile. After another argument with his dad, Axel snuck out of the house and went on to meet Geo at the warehouse. Unfortunately, the plan was over before it really began. As the duo hooked up the laser cannon to Geo's Uncle's Gustav, the warehouse flooded with lights. It was all a sting operation from the very beginning, Geo and Axel getting caught in the trap. Arrested, Axel was fully prepared to go along with Geo to spend a good portion of his life in jail. However, Alister was worried about his reputation of his son ebing a zoid-parts thief, As such he spent a good amount of money to keep the whole affair quiet on Axel's behalf and managed to reduce his sentence to a mere three years. Meanwhile, Geo who had no such money or luck, was to spend 15 years in a far away prison, separating the duo. Whilst in prison, Axel bonded with several prisoners and learned the 'trick of the trade' so to speak. It was there he learned how to gamble, lie and even learned the basics of zoid piloting, although the latter was only in theory and hersay as he never even touched got to touch a zoid. Three years later, Axel was released from his minimum security prison and back into his family's household. Upon entering, he was met with Alister and told that he hoped that poison was gone from him now. Angered at what he portrayed at his father controlling his life, Axel simply went to his room. Later in the night however, he snuck into his father's storage where he held the latest Zoid he was going to sell to a wanna be Zoid Pilot. Figuring that he would make his own man, Axel hopped into the Zoid and ran straight through the storage, making a huge hole in the wall. After returning from jail and being scolded by his father, Axel was angered at how he called his only friend in the world a poison to him. Packing most of his belongings that night, Axel decided to perform one last big heist before leaving. Entering his father's personal storage. As he punched in the password to his father's storage, ironically being family, he saw that his father had prepared another Zoid for sale. Knowing that this was his best chance to get back at the old man, Axel activated the Trinity Liger and took off into the night, never to return.
